Thank you Napa Valley Vintners | Letter to the Editor

January is Positive Parenting Awareness Month, a time to recognize the essential role parents and caregivers play in raising healthy, resilient children. At Cope Family Center, we see every day how families benefit when they have the tools, support and confidence to nurture their children through life’s challenges.

That is why we are especially grateful that Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) continued their longstanding support in 2025 with a generous $ 100,000 grant for Triple P – Positive Parenting Program. For more than 20 years, NVV has invested nearly $ 5 million in Cope’s programs, helping thousands of children and families build brighter futures here in Napa Valley.

Parenting is one of the hardest jobs any of us will ever taken on, and today’s families are raising children amid enormous pressures. Rising housing costs, limited access to child care, economic uncertainty, and the ongoing effects of trauma and stress can make it difficult for parents to provide the nurturing environments children need to thrive. Without support, these challenges can lead to conflict, behavioral struggles, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) that increase lifelong risks for poor health, school failure and mental health concerns.

Triple P is designed to change that trajectory. By equipping parents with practical, evidence-based tools to build positive routines, manage behavior and strengthen emotional connections, Triple P reduces conflict at home, helps children feel secure, and improves outcomes at school and in the community. Services are offered in both English and Spanish, in person and online, and at Napa Valley Unified School District campuses.

Thanks to NVV’s investment, Cope will reach more than 500 children and nearly 350 caregivers across Napa County this fiscal year with Triple P classes, one-on-one coaching, and specialized supports for families experiencing stress, separation, or other challenges. Parents report greater confidence, stronger relationships with their children, and lower levels of anxiety and stress. Children benefit from more consistent routines, fewer behavioral challenges and healthier emotional development.

The generosity of NVV reflects a deep understanding of the power of upstream prevention: when families have the tools and supports they need today, we can reduce trauma, improve health, and build a stronger, more resilient community for tomorrow.

As we mark Positive Parenting Awareness Month, we thank the Napa Valley Vintners for their continued leadership and dedication to the wellbeing of Napa Valley’s children and families. Together, we are helping parents succeed, children flourish, and our community grow stronger.
