Programs Internship
Learn about direct-service work by supporting programs that work directly with families and their children. The Programs Intern supports both Cope’s Home Visiting and Family Resource Center programs with various tasks and responsibilities. They also gain knowledge and insight into direct service work with parents and families by shadowing the programs.
Update Activity Go Bags for Home Visits
Through Cope’s Parents as Teachers program, Home Visitors meet with families with young children to help them foster their child’s development. One of the tools they use are activity “go-bags.” These are small activities made of household items that help children practice developmentally appropriate skills. By helping to create and update these you are helping the home visitors be more efficient and better serve families.
Help Plan a Family Connection Event
Monthly Family Connection Events provide families with the opportunity to build relationships with other families and participate in activities to help their child’s development. Help plan one of these events in coordination with a Cope staff member. Tasks may include researching activities, securing and preparing materials, event set up and tear down, etc.
