Hello Valued Supporters,

COVID cases are declining, vaccines are being distributed and kids are even starting to go to school four days a week instead of two. Positive progress is being made in our community, but it is happening slowly.

In the meantime, families are still struggling with isolation, distance learning, going back to work or dealing with unemployment. Cope has been supporting them from the beginning and we will for as long as it takes to get through this pandemic.

Your support has made it possible for us to continue helping so many through these unprecedented times, and for that I thank you. Below you'll find a little bit about celebrating our volunteers, a special family social led by our youngest volunteer and you'll meet our new Board Members.

Thank you for sticking with us and with vulnerable children and families in Napa Valley!
Michele

Celebrating Our Volunteers!

Last month, we hosted a special Virtual Volunteer Happy Hour to celebrate our wonderful volunteers. Although we would have preferred meeting in person, this virtual gathering enabled us to be "face-to-face" for the first time in a long time while still being safe. Ca' Momi graciously provided the drinks and small bites that volunteers picked up ahead of time, before tuning into our Zoom party.

After a welcome by Michele and Ricky, everyone broke out into small groups and shared how they got involved with Cope and why they choose to volunteer with our organization. We are so lucky to have such amazing volunteers who have stepped up over the years to help further our mission to keep children safe and help them thrive. We are glad to have been able to throw this little party in appreciation for all that they do!

If you would like to learn about current volunteer opportunities, please contact Ricky Hurtado, at rhurtado@copefamilycenter.org.

Connecting Families Virtually

Earlier this month we hosted another virtual family social event and this one was even more special because it was led by our youngest volunteer Sergio and his mom Rosanna.

Together they prepared craft kits filled with hearts that when put together make different animals. Families picked up their kits and then joined the virtual gathering where parents helped their children make heart animals. Sergio

and Rosanna guided them through the craft while providing the opportunity for kids and parents to connect with one another. These events are so important to help families build connections and support networks for themselves, and they are even more important now when children and families are so isolated.

To do even more, Sergio is doing a donation drive for his birthday. Instead of presents for himself he is asking others to donate baby diapers, bottles, formula and wipes for families in need. Find his amazon donation wish list HERE.
