Cope Welcomes New Board Members

Cope Family Center has elected Kathy Glass, Michael Purvis, Myles Davis and Armond Phillips to its Board of Directors.

Glass is co-owner and Vice President of Platypus Tours, Ltd., and in addition to her background in corporate customer service at a senior management level, she brings decades of experience as a volunteer with multiple nonprofits. Glass’s dedication to Cope springs from her deep commitment to community service.

Purvis is a marketing consultant, with 50 years as a professional working in product management, advertising and branding. He became familiar with Cope through work he did to promote its 45th Anniversary Celebration in 2017, and is pleased to continue to contribute to the organization.

Davis is the founder and co-owner of Myles Davis Electric, an electrical contracting firm specializing in winery and high-end residential work. Along with his 25 years of experience building that company, he also has a long history of supportive engagement with local nonprofits. As the father to three daughters, he has a strong affinity for Cope’s mission to empower parents and strengthen the community.

Phillips is a retired academic administrator and former interim President of Napa Valley College.  His many decades of professional service in Napa, Marin, and Solano Counties are accompanied by his extensive record as a committed volunteer in multiple organizations. Phillips cites family as the centerpiece of his personal and professional life, and looks forward to supporting local families through Cope.

Judy Myers, Cope Board President, commented, “I’m delighted to have these excellent additions to Cope’s Board. The level of commitment and experience all four new members bring is truly impressive. Their professional fields vary widely, but they share highly developed skills as communicators and negotiators, as well as a true passion for Cope's objectives. The entire Board is excited to have them as active participants in our future efforts.”

Cope Executive Director Michele Grupe said, “Armond, Kathy, Mike and Myles bring diverse perspectives and expertise to the Board, as well as a passion for our mission to empower parents, nurture children and strengthen our community.  As we enter into our next phase of planning for the future, their backgrounds in marketing, business and education will help ensure our sustainability and growth.”
