Kids' Day
A fun and educational event for the whole family. At this street fair right in front of Cope's office, kids enjoy a multitude of activities, from bounce houses to a rock climbing wall, and parents can relax and learn more about community resources. Usually held on a Saturday during Blue Ribbon Month, April.
Napa River Rock & Stroll 6K Family Fun Run
Volunteers
needed for Napa River Rock & Stroll both in preparation for and on
day of event, Saturday, September 25, 2010. Event starts at Kennedy
Park and ends at Veterans Memorial Park. Volunteers are needed to serve
and facilitate the following committees: Logistics, Registration, Road
Crew, Parking, Finish Line, Expo (Food, Beverage, Vendors),
Entertainment and more. Race Day volunteers needed for Set-Up/Clean-Up
at mulitple locations, Registration, Water Stations, Course Guides,
Traffic & Parking Control, Finish Line & more. Suitable for

Family Holiday Party
Help ring in the holiday season by volunteering at Cope's annual
celebration for the families we serve. Volunteers are needed to help
set up, clean up, and staff the party. Activities include cookie
decorating, ornament making, gift basket raffle and photos with Santa. Usually held one evening in early December.
SEASONAL:
(January-April): Tax Preparers, Tax Return Transmitter, Tax Clinic Screener/Greeter
Volunteer staffers needed for the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance) clinics taking place from January-April, 2010. No

(September-June): Child Assault Prevention Program Workshop Presenter
Provide elementary school children tips, tools and strategies for
handling a bully confrontation, preventing stranger abductions and safe
and unsafe touches from relatives or strangers. Schedule workshops,
memorize script, present to children in an age appropriate format.
Report suspected cases of child abuse. Serve any time September to May
Time up to two days per week, 6 hours per day. Qualifications:
Ability to speak & interact with up to 30 children. Must have
Mandated Child Abuse Reporter training--provided free of charge.
Livescan DOJ/FBI background check.
(April-November): Financial Management Training Instructor
Volunteers with a background in banking or finance are needed to teach Financial Management classes. We need English speakers, bilingual or monolingual Spanish speakers to help local hardworking families gain money management skills. Volunteer for two hours, no experience required!

(April-November): Financial Wellness Coach/Mentor
Assist participants in creating financial goals for their families based on their values. This is a flexible program still in the pilot phase, so commitment time may vary. We are anticipating a commitment of three to six months. Minimum of 2 hours per month. Qualifications: Excellent communication skills with individuals and small groups. Knowledge of basic financial systems. Basic computer skills. Bilingual skills a plus.
SPECIAL PROJECTS:
Sustainable Gardening Project: Summer 2010-Spring 2011
We're embarking on a project to create a sustainable and educational front yard, open to the community, and we need your help! Our first Work Day was Saturday July 10th to start the sheet mulching process to smother the grass and start prepping the soil. Our Planting Day is in October, exact date TBA. Maintanence Days will be scheduled on an ongoing basis thereafter. Once the landscaping is finished we will have raised beds for vegetable planting, a demo garden for water wise plants, a bee and butterfly garden, and an ongoing schedule of workshops to educate and involve the community.

Public Relations
The PR Committee has openings for individuals interested in promoting Cope Family center's programs and services in the community. Marketing and PR professionals encouraged to apply. Human Resources
The committee needs a human resource professional to provide expertise on key HR issues. The committee meets on an as-needed basis to review benefit options and work on special projects. Family Circle & Community Circle (Development)
The Development Committees help to ensure that Cope Family Center has sufficient funds to provide our family support services to Napa Valley. If you like to network or ask for investments, we have a spot for you. Family Circle (individual & family giving club) Committee meets on the third Monday of each month at 1:30pm. This committee is responsible for recruiting dedicated community members to serve on our committees and Board of Directors. The current committee has identified key areas of expertise needed to complement our current Board Members, including: Architecture, Entrepreneurial, Foundation, Government, Human Resources, Insurance, Legal-Estate Planning, Winemaking, Media/Marketing, and Medical.
