HOME VISITATION

Cope's Home Visitation program provides families with an intensive support system and links to Napa's community of resources. Families that participate in our Home Visitation Program come from all walks of life, from the single teenage mother who needs help raising her newborn daughter to the working family raising children with behavioral issues that are resulting in the children's suspension from school.

Each family meets first with one of Cope's Registered Nurses for an evaluation of the family's strengths and needs, after which the family is assigned a Home Visitor. Together with their Home Visitors, parent(s) create an individualized service plan that enables the family to take an active role in setting goals and identifying objectives. The strengths and positive attributes of each family are respected, acknowledged and encouraged. Support activities for our Home Visitation families include:

  • Enhancement of parenting skills and facilitation of early learning
  • Maintenance of family well-being and medical care
  • Development of household management skills
  • Maintenance of and education about nutritional needs
  • Development of community resources and social support network
  • Development of budget management skills
  • Self-sufficiency planning

Cope Family Center also participates in Napa County's WELCOME EVERY BABY program. To learn more about, please contact your health care provider, or call: 707-259-8190.
