The key to building healthy families is easing some of the stress that parents face in their daily lives. Cope Family Center provides emergency aid and assistance to families in crisis and struggling to make ends meet by providing:
Sally, a grandmother of two, called Cope in crisis when her 37-year-old daughter passed away suddenly from a massive brain hemorrhage. Sally had worked at a local business for the past 34 years, but had exhausted all of her vacation time and savings the previous year when her house burned down. She was looking for assistance on how to care for her grieving grandchildren and get the monetary support she needed, now that she was in the unexpected position of raising her grandchildren. Through Cope's Emergency Aid services, our staff helped Sally access the appropriate resources for child care, therapy for the children, legal guardianship, WIC, Social Security, housing vouchers, summer camp for the children and utility assistance.
